MILTON — Compared to their spring games last week in Vero Beach, Florida, the Red Hawks played in a much chillier environment Tuesday in their home opener against Edgewood in nonconference girls softball.

When Red Hawk pitcher Ella Knoble sent the game’s first pitch over to Kenzie Marquardt behind the plate, the temperature was 44 degrees with the windchill 27F.
