Jefferson silenced by Jones, Milton in 7-0 in season-opening loss

JEFFERSON — Trey Jones and Landon Schwarz combined on a four-hitter with 11 strikeouts as Milton topped Jefferson 7-0 in nonconference baseball at Fischer Field on Tuesday to open the season.

Jones, who earned the decision, tossed the first five innings, fanning eight with one walk while scattering three singles. Schwarz punched out three over two innings of one-hit ball.
