The paved trail system in Janesville is entering three decades of use. What started as a few miles segment in Palmer Park now stretches to all corners of our community and beyond. Our trail system is the highest used amenity in our park system and offers social, recreational, training and even commuting options for walkers, runners, and bikers alike.

Our community should be proud of our jewel that gently spiders through our city. I certainly am. In the last 30 years I’ve walked, ran, ridden and inline skated hundreds of miles north, south, east and west around town. It’s funny to think that a trail system could evolve and I’ve seen changes both good and bad in the last few decades. It’s not necessarily with the pavement, but from the user base.
