WHITEWATER Gov. Tony Evers visited the UW-Whitewater campus on Wednesday on his Back-to-School tour, touting his proposed $800 million increase for the Universities of Wisconsin in the 2025-27 biennial budget.
During his stop at the university, Evers toured Upham Hall and the James R. Connor University Center. Along the way, he met with geology students in Upham Hall and discussed their projects. He spoke with Chancellor Corey King and University Center Executive Director Angela Meldonian about topics that included the universitys ongoing efforts toward retention. He also toured the buildings with Sen. Mark Spreitzer (D-Beloit) and Whitewater Student Government President Douglas Bradley.
