MADISON 鈥 Wisconsin Legislative Democrats introduced a package of three bills on Thursday that would expand the Homestead Tax Credit for low-income renters and homeowners, provide free breakfast and lunch to all Wisconsin public school children and aims to lower prescription drug prices.

BELOIT - The Beloit school board is poised to vote Thursday night on setting an April referendum that would ask voters for an additional $40.2 million spread over three years. The vote would come at the school board's third special meeting in six days.

ORFORDVILLE鈥擜bundant Life had five players in double figures in its 102-70 victory over Parkview Friday night in Trailways Conference South Division boys basketball.

JANESVILLE 鈥 Big Eight Conference boys basketball couldn't get much more exciting than what was shared by Janesville Craig and Madison La Follette Thursday night.

The Cougars survived nine ties and 19 lead changes in posting a 78-73 victory over the Lancers. Cougar 6-foot-6 post, Nolan Duffy, led all scorers with 24 points, helping replace the production left behind by Judson Henkel, who last played against Elkhorn, Jan. 3.

Nichari Tucker scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Harper Brandenburg added 18 and nine rebounds of her own as host Janesville Parker grabbed its first Big Eight conference victory of the season, an 86-60 triumph over Madison West Thursday night.

CLINTON 鈥 Reagan Flickinger set the Clinton school-record career scoring mark with a 36-point effort in an overtime victory, 83-81, against East Troy Thursday night.

And Flickinger had jumped the Cougars ahead late in the second half with a three-point play before a last-second foul allowed the Trojans to force overtime.
